QUALIFICATION QUESTIONS

Players must compete in at least two official qualifying tournaments during the season to remain eligible for Invitational qualification.

No. Players may compete in as many or as few qualifying tournaments as they choose, provided they meet the two-tournament minimum participation requirement.

Only a player’s four highest qualifying tournament point totals count toward final Invitational standings. If a player competes in all five qualifying tournaments, the lowest point total is automatically dropped.

Yes. Missing one or more qualifying tournaments does not automatically eliminate a player from qualification consideration.

Qualification points belong to the individual player. This is especially important in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles competition, where players qualify individually rather than as fixed teams.

Yes. Each championship division and age group maintains independent standings and qualification races. Players compete only against others within their own division for Invitational qualification.

Tournament medals are awarded based on actual finish within the combined bracket. Invitational qualification points, however, are awarded according to finish within each player’s originally registered division.

STANDINGS QUESTIONS

Understanding The Standings System

Invitational standings are maintained separately within each championship division and age group.
Standings are updated throughout the qualifying season and determine which players receive invitations
to the 2027 Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational.

Standings are typically updated within 72 hours following completion of each qualifying tournament.

Points are awarded based on a player’s finishing position within their championship division and age group.
Current points schedule:
Gold Medal: 100 points
Silver Medal: 80 points
Bronze Medal: 60 points
4th Place: 50 points
5th Place: 40 points
6th Place: 30 points
7th Place: 20 points
Completed Event: 10 points

Yes. Each championship division and age group maintains its own standings. Players compete only against others within their division for qualification purposes.

No. Standings are considered unofficial until reviewed and published following each qualifying event. Final standings become official only after certification following the Greene Ridge Harvest Championship.

If players are tied in total qualification points at the conclusion of the qualifying season, official tie-breaker procedures outlined in the Rules & Information Guide will be applied.

Yes. Current standings for every championship division will be published and updated on the official Greene Ridge Invitational website throughout the qualifying season.

DOUBLES & TEAM FORMATION QUESTIONS

Understanding Doubles Qualification

The Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational uses an individual qualification system for doubles competition.
Qualification points belong to the player rather than a fixed partnership, creating flexibility during the
qualifying season while helping build competitive championship fields.

No. Players qualify individually in Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles competition. Qualification points belong to the individual player, not the team.

Yes. Players may compete with different partners throughout the qualifying season while continuing to earn qualification points toward their individual standings.

No. All qualification points earned remain with the individual player regardless of who their partner was during a particular tournament.

Not necessarily. Partnerships used during the qualifying season do not automatically carry over to Championship Weekend.

Following certification of final standings, qualified players receive Invitational Seed Scores based on season performance. Championship teams are then formed using a competitive balancing system designed to create evenly matched championship fields.

The Invitational was designed to reward individual achievement throughout the qualifying season while creating the most competitive championship environment possible. This format allows players to qualify based on their own performance rather than the availability of a single partner.

Men’s Doubles and Women’s Doubles divisions qualify the top 16 players in each division. Mixed Doubles divisions qualify the top 8 men and top 8 women in each division.

Yes. Players may qualify in multiple championship divisions if their standings position is high enough within each division.

INVITATIONS & ALTERNATES QUESTIONS

Receiving Your Invitation

Qualification standings determine who earns invitations to the Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational.
The following questions explain how invitations are issued, accepted, and transferred when openings occur.

Invitations begin being issued on January 1, 2027, following certification of the final qualification standings.

Qualified players will be notified using the contact information provided during tournament registration and through official Invitational communications.

Players have 14 calendar days from the date the invitation is issued to accept their invitation and complete registration requirements.

No. Qualification earns the opportunity to receive an invitation. Participation is not secured until the invitation is accepted and registration requirements are completed.

If a player declines an invitation, the next eligible player in the final standings will receive an invitation.

If a player fails to respond within the required acceptance period, the invitation may be forfeited and offered to the next eligible alternate.

Alternates are selected according to the final certified standings within the affected championship division. The highest-ranked eligible player not already qualified receives the next invitation opportunity.

Failure to complete required registration steps, provide accurate eligibility information, or comply with Invitational policies may result in forfeiture of an invitation.

The Invitational field locks on April 1, 2027. After that date, replacements and adjustments will be handled at the discretion of the Tournament Director.

If a withdrawal occurs before the field lock date, an alternate may be invited according to the final standings. After the field lock date, replacement decisions will be made based on competitive and scheduling considerations.

CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND QUESTIONS

Competing At The Invitational

Championship Weekend is the culmination of the Greene Ridge Qualifying Series. The following questions explain how
competition is conducted, how champions are determined, and what qualified players can expect during the Invitational.

Each division uses a pool play format followed by semifinal and medal-round competition. Competitors begin in pool play before advancing to the championship rounds.

Each championship division consists of eight competitors or teams. The qualification process determines which players earn those positions through final standings.

Competitors are divided into two pools of four. Each competitor plays every other competitor within their pool. The top two finishers from each pool advance to the semifinals.

Pool play matches are played as:

  • One game to 15
  • Win by 2

Semifinal and medal-round matches are played as:

  • Best two out of three games
  • Games to 11
  • Win by 2

All Bronze Medal Matches are scheduled for Saturday. Bronze medals are presented immediately following completion of the Bronze Medal Matches.

All Gold Medal Matches are played on Championship Sunday. Gold and Silver medals are presented following each championship match.

No. Each championship division crowns its own Gold, Silver, and Bronze medalists. There is no overall Invitational champion.

Each division awards:

    Medalists become part of the official historical record of the Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational.

Yes. Registered Invitational competitors will receive an official Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational competitor shirt.

Event photography may be conducted throughout Championship Weekend. Selected championship content may also be featured through official Forever Competitive media channels.

Yes. Spectators are welcome to attend and watch championship competition throughout the weekend. Additional spectator information will be published closer to the event.

TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATION & POLICIES

Rules, Operations & Tournament Management

The Greene Ridge Pickleball Invitational is committed to providing a fair, competitive, and professionally managed championship experience.
The following questions address tournament operations, player conduct, weather policies, and administrative procedures.

All matches will be governed by the current USA Pickleball rules except where specifically modified by Invitational policies or tournament procedures.

The Tournament Director may delay, suspend, postpone, or modify competition schedules when weather or court conditions create unsafe playing conditions.

Yes. If Championship Weekend cannot reasonably be completed during the scheduled weekend, unfinished competition may be moved to the designated rain-date weekend.

Yes. Schedules, court assignments, and match order may be adjusted as necessary to ensure efficient tournament operations and championship completion.

Players are expected to demonstrate good sportsmanship, fair play, and respect toward opponents, officials, volunteers, spectators, and facility staff at all times.

The Tournament Director may take appropriate action, including warnings, match penalties, forfeitures, or removal from competition when necessary to protect the integrity of the event.

The Tournament Director has final authority regarding tournament operations, qualification rulings, scheduling decisions, standings certification, and Invitational administration.

No. Qualification standings may only be adjusted to correct administrative errors, eligibility issues, or rules violations.

Yes. Matches, medal presentations, and other championship activities may be photographed or recorded for promotional, historical, and media purposes.
